Though shelling is where the power lies, Gunlance's physical attacks are not too shabby either! Depending on the situation, you can build your Gunlance for poking only!

TLDR: gunlance is an offensive lance with more skill expressive but becomes harder to manage in return. And to play it you must try to play like lance but focus of timing ur attacks. Gunlance - Skills And Abilities

This can be chained into a Wide Sweep by hitting X/Y or Burst Fire by hitting A/B. Using this Silkbind Ability will reduce the cooldown on your Wyvern's Fire meter. Burst Fire will consume all of your ammo at once.

The final and deadliest ammo at your disposal is Wyvern's Fire. Holding R2 and then following up with Triangle and Circle together will wield a charged in place shot that will deal massive damage, but will have a large cool down. So make it count.
