How many cars can I buy from Copart? ›

Vehicle Relist Fee

If the lot is not paid in full within 8 calendar days (including the day of sale), the vehicle will be relisted. The Relist Fee will be 10% of the final sale price with a minimum of $600.

The payment deadline is 3 business days, including day of sale (funds must be received on Copart account within the 3-day period). If not paid within the 3 days, a $50 late fee is assessed on each vehicle.

You can drive a car directly off the lot if you have insurance on it and have access to dealer tags.

If you are a Premier Member, you only need to make a one-time deposit of $400 to bid up to $100,000 per day. All deposits are fully refundable if your account is in good standing and all outstanding invoices have been paid.

Buying for personal use in California? Without business licenses, you will need a Broker's help to bid on clean and salvage titled vehicles in California. If you're buying in another state, view the State Licensing Overview or search our No License Required inventory.

What payment methods does Copart accept? Copart accepts a wide variety of payment methods including wire transfers, credit & debit cards, and even cash. To get a complete list, visit our Payment Options Guide.

Members who do not have a dealer, dismantler or Automotive Repair Dealer license on file will be charged sales tax on purchases made in California. The California Department of Motor Vehicles issues dealer and dismantler licenses.

Bidding fees cover the cost for Copart to operate and maintain our 220+ vehicle processing and storage locations and online marketplace that sells around 4 million vehicles annually. Copart determines this fee based on the winning bid for a vehicle and a few other factors.

Copart's inventory is mainly composed of wrecked cars from insurance companies, but we also have some consumers who sell their clean title vehicles through us as well. You can find boats or power sports vehicles like jet skis at Copart too!

Buyers are allowed in designated sale rows only. Inspection is limited to vehicles currently listed for sale. Tools of any kind, including diagnostic code readers, are not allowed in the yard. See a staff member if you need assistance with a vehicle.
