Foundry has a heritage of more than 25 years, developing creative software for the Media and Entertainment industry and a portfolio of award-winning products. It advances the art and technology of visual experience with creative leaders around the globe, including major feature film studios and post-production houses such as ILM, DNEG, Pitch Black, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Wētā FX, Pixar, Marvel, Netflix, Framestore, and Technicolor Creative Studios.

In partnership with these companies, Foundry solves complex visualization challenges to turn incredible ideas into reality. Its products are used to create breathtaking visual effects and animation on a wide range of feature films, episodic content, and commercials.

Foundry software was integral in the making of every VFX Academy Award-winning film for the past decade. The company has been recognized and honored at the highest level in the industry, including four Academy Sci-Tech Awards for Mari, Katana, Nuke and Furnace, two HPA Engineering Excellence awards for Flix and Nuke respectively, and an Engineering Emmy for Nuke.

Founded in 1996, Foundry is headquartered in London, with over 300 people worldwide and a presence in the US, Canada, China, Japan, Australia, and Ireland.

Meet our executives

Jody Madden

Jody MaddenChief Executive Officer

Jody Madden was appointed CEO in July 2019 to lead Foundry's next stage of growth. Since joining Foundry as Chief Operating Officer in 2013, Jody has been responsible for the overall customer strategy and product line ensuring our customers’ needs remain at the heart of the business. Prior to joining Foundry, Jody spent more than a decade in technology management and studio leadership roles at Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm, and Digital Domain. Jody graduated from Stanford University.

Simon Robinson

Simon RobinsonCo-Founder and Chief Scientist

With a BA Hons in Engineering and Computing from Cambridge University, Foundry co-founder Simon Robinson began his career at IBM Research in New York. He subsequently worked in technology development at companies including Digital Pictures, Rushes, Framestore and MPC, before starting up Foundry in 1996. He continues to play a key role in the direction and development of the company.

Christy Anzelmo

Christy AnzelmoChief Product Officer

Christy Anzelmo joined Foundry in 2015. As Chief Product Officer she is responsible for leading strategic vision and delivery of Foundry’s product portfolio. Christy has a strong background in product design and business management with 15 years of product leadership experience across fashion, electronics, and software products. She holds a BS from Cornell University and MBA from the University of Colorado.

Jess Barlow

Jess BarlowChief People Officer

Jess Barlow is Foundry's Chief People Officer and is responsible for leading the People, Talent & Development and Facilities teams. Having joined the business in 2016, Jess has been pivotal in driving Foundry's People First culture. She has nearly a decade of generalist HR experience across the Advertising and Technology industries, is CIPD qualified and holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Southampton.

Alex Foulds

Alex FouldsChief Revenue Officer

Alex is Foundry’s Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for Foundry's overall growth strategy and ensuring the customer experience stays at the heart of everything we do. Alex joined Foundry in March 2016 from private equity fund HgCapital, and has 15 years of experience in software strategy, sales and marketing, working across Europe, Asia and North America.

James France

James FranceChief Financial Officer

James is Foundry's Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the financial and commercial management of the business. James joined Foundry in July 2017 having previously been an Assistant Director in the M&A advisory practice at Deloitte. He is a graduate from the University of Warwick and a qualified chartered accountant (ICAEW).

Phil Parsonage

Phil ParsonageChief Technology Officer

Phil is in his second period at Foundry, initially spending 15 years working in engineering and research roles, before developing into the Chief Engineering Officer position. After spending time at Sensat and Hadean, Phil returned to Foundry in June 2023 as Chief Technology Officer. Phil has more than 20 years’ experience in technology companies and holds an MEng in Engineering and Computer Science.

Olly Wilson

Olly WilsonHead of Legal and General Counsel

Olly is Foundry’s Head of Legal and General Counsel and is responsible for Foundry’s legal outlook and governance. Olly joined Foundry in 2016, having previously led international legal operations at a consumer electronics and software business. He graduated in history from the University of Nottingham, and then furthered his education by completing a law degree from the College of Law.
